     In a developed society economy, health and research are interdependent and find their integration in a `Policy Research for Sustainable Development'.

à     In order to fulfil the needs of Sustainable Development, IMC has identified the following objectives:

produce objective, reliable and comparable information for those concerned with framing, implementing and further developing environmental policy (from local to European level), and for the wider European public
give support to the local and regional authorities in identifying, preparing and evaluating suitable environmental measures, guidelines and legislation
liaise with other relevant regional, national, European and global environmental programmes and institutions.
